Day 5
Today was focused around just getting some levels in. I needed to start really easy to introduce all the mechanics one by one to not overwhelm the player.
The main menu now connects to these tutorial levels, and shows how many stars have been unlocked for each.
Level 1: Introduces the note, how to move and interact
Level 2: Introduces rotation
Level 3: Introduces ladders and rewards rotation
Level 4: Introduces conveyers, teaches a new mechanic of ladders.
These levels look really simple but they take a while to make. Level design is not my strong suite. But I am beginning to get a better understanding of 'teach, train', test' through these tutorials.
But I cant get ahead of myself, there are still more mechanics to make before i can go full throttle on level design.
