Day 12
-Edited-
I have spent all day working to get a playable build to send to my next tester.
Which for the most part was just UI changes. Note Ui has been massively overhauled to now look like a notebook, Along with this I created sprites for each of the instructions, which really makes the game feel a whole lot more complete.
On top of this, I reorganised the HUD to only have two buttons, The reset button and the Note button. For now, I have disabled the zoom and pause button, As I do not know if zoom is necessary, and the pause button isn't required on PC as long as the keybinding is there. These two buttons also have brand new sprites and are shown at the top of the screen instead of at the bottom right.
I also added some sound effects, I created these on Beepbox.co, and they add more life to the robot and the scene. The sounds I have made so far are:
-Accept instructions
-Fail Instruction
-Hack
-Get star
-Weight fall
-Robot death
I still have a lot more sounds I want to add, but with just these, I can see the game coming together very nicely.
Before I could send this off to anyone, I needed to include a short tutorial to teach them the basics. It is temporary and quite ugly but the first level now includes a short tutorial to teach the player how to use the note book and give instructions
I have also disabled the settings menu for the time being, ill explain why tomorrow:
TLDR:
-New build
-Better UI
-Sound effects
For tomorrow:
-Fix settings menu
-Get feedback
