Day 10
Another slow day, but I can see the finishing line.
4 levels to go before I reach my next milestone, So I am mixing up my structure to allow me to experiment with new mechanics, optimisations and that ever allusive 'Game feel'
I created a pressure plate and pulley system. I made the sprites for the pulley myself so it doesn't NEED to be replaced, but an upgrade would be good. I used unity's super helpful splicing system to make the size completely dynamic, which is insanely useful. When the appropriate pressure plate it pressed down, the weight raises to its highest point, and then back down when its released. If a poor robot is in the firing zone, it dies, no escape just death.
I have tried adding a few particle effects. The first of which is a dust trial under the robots when they move, its cute, nothing special. The second is a bigger dust explosion when the weight hits the ground, and one for hacking(Very WIP) I feel it adds a bit more life to the scene while its still lacking real animations.
I also adjusted tutorial seven to have the hack function locked, so the player has to plan more specifically. It is a good mechanic that I should use more.
TDLR:
-New door (Weight and pressure Plate)
-Trialling particle effects
For tomorrow:
-Show connections between objects
-Tidy up main menu
