Day 13
Another Another build
Okay as promised yesterday, ill explain why I had to cut out the settings menu from the last build.
The pixel-perfect camera is terrible...
It felt so good while I was adding it, and it gave the game that perfect retro feeling I was looking for this whole time, But then playing with it was pretty jarring. It let the entire game feel clunky and completely ruined the UI, making it feel blocky and smeared at the same time. I spent some time trying to fix it, but it never really stopped the disastrous effect on the UI.
I was willing to leave it for now, but after yesterday's huge UI overhaul, I couldn't stand how it was anymore. So I disabled it, along with the settings menu until I had time to tidy up the mess it left behind.
Which is what I worked on today. So now the pixel-perfect camera is on the cutting room floor, and we now have a much nicer settings menu. For now, all it controls is volume and infinite loops, but I intend to add more toggles and keybinding settings there soon
I also fixed a few more bugs I ignored to make yesterday's build
TLDR:
-Settings menu is back
-No more pixel-perfect camera
For tomorrow:
-Add more sound effects
-Rebindable buttons
