Day 3 (and 4)
I have done a lot the last two days, so I didn't get to write a log yesterday.
Most of my time was given to making, fixing and updating the UI's and menus.
I got around to making a main menu, which feeds into a level selection screen. This screen shows the all unlocked levels, and how many stars the player has collected from that level. Which honestly is a bit deceiving, you get one for completion and one for collecting the star in the level. Having 2 stars instead of three feels weird, so if I can find a way to add a third star I would like to take that chance.
The main menu also has room for a settings and credits menu, but I haven't got around to that yet.
The player can now interact with consoles. Interacting with all the consoles is the win condition, so it was pretty important. Instructions are now given the the robot by clicking, which is a lot more user friendly.
But the biggest change, is the addition of the secondary instruction list. On the note pad, the player has the option to split off the bottom 10 instructions. A new (currently unnamed) instruction will tell the robot to do these instructions next, making repeating sets of instructions really easy. Even if its just compounding move forward instructions.
TLDR:
-New menus
-Robot can repeat sets of tasks
-You can win
For tomorrow:
-Make some more prototype levels
-Improve visuals?
