Day 1


For the first day my aim was really simple, make the basic VR set-up in unity. This is only my second time programming with Vr, and my first doing it for an actual game instead of just mindless experimentation. So the goal was to have the barebones on VR interaction.

Using unitys Xr toolkit, this was a pretty easy set up. Especially with the help of this tutorial series.

So currently all that is in the project is an empty plane with a XR enabled player. The player can move and turn using the joysticks and the hand follows the controllers movement. I also have a github repo set up for more technical discussions

Tomorrow I aim to have hand interactions set up to, giving me a framework for picking up, throwing, dropping and shooting.

This project will be alot of fun.
