Progress is slow
Because of a lot of hardware and software limitations, I'm still stuck in early development so very little thought has gone into the design. For now, I will throw out a few preliminary ideas and which of the approaches I would use.
Viewing room:
-Similar to Bings room from the black mirror episode (Picture 2)
-Surrounded by screens, must watch the ad
-This would only work effectively in VR
Single Screen:
-A monitor viewing a game or video (Perhaps the presentation for this assignment)
-Ads pop up and must be watched in full to continue
-Could be made with Eye-tracking, and would not require an environment
-Could be recreated in VR, which would be very trippy but a lot of fun (Possibly picture 1)
-Could be created in AR, but the monitor would likely struggle to be completely stationary but also would be fun and confusing
Pop-ups:
-Random pop-ups spawn around the user, they must find where it spawned and watch it or will be punished for it
-Would probably need a secondary objective, as it feels more like a game
-Could be done in VR, which would be easier game wise
-Could be done in AR, which would be disorientating and feel like pokemon go (Kinda funny)
I like the idea of having a short video presentation I made for this project, be a part of the project itself. But this is a matter of how much time developing the program takes but is a nicely integrated idea. For instance, the presentation gets interrupted by the very same ads it is introducing
